Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic is unlikely to leave the Bernabeu to join Arsenal or Tottenham, according to Diario Gol.

The Spanish publication reports that manager Zinedine Zidane is keen to keep the player but the Croatian’s agent has received offers from other interested parties. The player’s lack of minutes on the field have prompted speculation that he could leave Spain, but his destination is likely to be Italy and not England.

Kovacic’s former club Inter Milan would like the player back. The club sold the 23 year old to Real Madrid for €29million in 2015 but just two years after selling the Croatian, they want him to return to the Giuseppe Meazza.

Inter’s city rivals AC Milan are also interested in the player while Roma are keeping tabs on the midfielder as well. Arsenal and Tottenham are believed to have registered their interest, Diario Gol report, but neither club is seen as a viable option this summer.
