Is defender’s frank admission making a €50m deal likelier for Arsenal?

|

Arsenal right back Hector Bellerin has revealed that he is missing being close to his family. The Spaniard’s parents travelled with him when he joined the Gunners as a 16 year old, but they have now returned home to Barcelona.

In an interview with Catalan newspaper Sport, the 22 year old said that the lack of contact with his mother and father has not been easy for him:

“One of the habits I miss the most is being with my parents after the games, it’s something I’ve done since childhood. I like to share these moments with them . Everything is more difficult if they are not with you “

Sport have suggested that this admission suggests that the full back is seeking a return to Spain, although it must be said that a player wouldn’t have signed a six and a half year deal to stay in England a few months ago if he was feeling homesick.

Spanish radio station RAC1 are suggesting that Bellerin has already verbally agreed to join Barca this summer, although no other Spanish or English newspaper has so far corroborated the story.

Madrid based publication Marca anticipates that Barcelona will have to pay €50million if they want to land Bellerin this summer.
