Besiktas will offer Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan the same wages he is on at the Catalan club if he opts to join the Turkish champions, according to Fotomac.
The Turkish publication reports that Besiktas president Fikret Orman is prepared to offer the 30 year old €5.5million a season (£92,000 a week), although it is well short of the €10million a season offers he is reportedly receiving from Chinese Super League clubs.
Arda’s agent Ahmet Bulut has been in talks with Besiktas sporting director Umut Guner about signing Barca team mate Thomas Vermaelen but the conversation swiftly turned to Arda’s situation.
Guner told Bulut about Besiktas’ offer that would see the Turkish club match the midfielder’s Barca wages, while Bulut informed Guner about the interest coming from China.
Arda has reportedly been a target of Arsenal, although it must be said that most of the links have come from Turkey rather than from Spain, which suggests the Gunners’ interest may not be as strong as some claim.
