There has been some confusion as to what Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas actually said about a bid from Arsenal for striker Alexandre Lacazette.

Sky Sports are carrying quotes that Aulas said that the club have received a “nice offer” from the Gunners for the 26 year old, but BeIn Sports who have TV stations in France, have quoted him saying something very different at the same press conference:

“Alexandre could leave the club but things went wrong with Atletico. For us, he is with Lyon. Today, I haven’t got any other offers for Alexandre Lacazette. I don’t know if he wants to leave.”

In any case it seems that Lacazette is not moving anytime soon. The French international is believed to have a £60m price tag with the Daily Telegraph reporting that Lyon have informed Arsenal they will have to meet their valuation if they want to sign the player this summer.

Lacazette scored 37 goals in all competitions for Lyon last season. During his time with the club he has scored 129 goals in total in 275 appearances, 60 of which have come in the last two seasons alone.
