Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan will not leave the Catalan club this summer unless he is explicitly asked to do so by the La Liga side’s hierarchy, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Turkish international has been linked with Arsenal, Besiktas and the Chinese Super League in recent weeks but the 30 year old seems to be keen on staying at Barca.

Despite reports suggesting he may not be in the club’s plans, Arda is believed to be happy with the number of games he played last season. The midfielder played 30 games in all competitions, starting 20, while also scoring an impressive 13 goals and providing seven assists.

There is likely to be a clean slate for everyone in the Catalan side’s squad with Ernesto Valverde replacing Luis Enrique as head coach for next season. Arda is aiming to join up for pre-season training on July 12th as planned and take part in Barca’s tour of the United States, unless he is told otherwise by the club.
