Arsenal have joined Liverpool in enquiring about Bordeaux forward Gaetan Laborde, according to Footmercato.net.
The French website reports both Premier League clubs have taken an interest in the 23 year old, although it must be said, his statistics don’t suggest he would be a target high up on the list of either team.
Laborde made 42 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring 13 goals, only six of which came in the league. He is not exactly young either and he is yet to be called up by France.
Before last season, he actually spent most of his time in senior football out on loan at Red Star, Stade Brest and Clermont Foot Auvergne in the French lower leagues.
It is a pretty strange link to be honest, and it seems highly unlikely that either Arsenal or Liverpool would pursue a deal for Laborde unless there is some outstanding, untapped talent there a la Riyad Mahrez or N’Golo Kante.
