AC Milan are preparing to make a move for Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny if their current number one Gianluigi Donnarumma rejects a new contract, according to the Gazzetta Dello Sport and Tuttosport (via calciomercato.com).

Donnarumma is believed to have been offered a four year contract, worth €4million a season, but with a release clause included that would allow the 18 year old to leave at the end of next season if the Rossoneri don’t qualify for the Champions League.

If  he rejects the proposal however, it is likely the promising Italian international will be sold with the keeper’s contract expiring at the end of next season.

Milan are said to be keen on Szczesny as a replacement. The Polish international has impressed during his two year loan spell at Roma but will be returning to the Emirates in the summer.  Alternative options for the Serie A side are believed to be Spanish legend Iker Casillas and Lazio shot stopper Federico Marchetti.
