Arsenal defender still being pursued by Euro giants

|

Barcelona have not given up their pursuit of Hector Bellerin after Robert Fernandez dropped yet another hint that the La Liga club are planning a summer swoop for the right-back.

The Catalan giants have been heavily linked with a summer move for Bellerin as of late as they look to fill the right-back position vacated by Dani Alves.

Luis Enrique has tried utilizing Sergi Roberto and Alex Vidal in the full-back role this season but to no real success. It now appears that Barcelona will be going all out to try and bring back Bellerin, 22, who left the Catalan club to join Arsenal in 2011.

When asked if the club are looking to sign a new right-back this summer, Barcelona chief Fernandez told RAC1 via Twitter:

“We can do something there. It’s true. Signing [a right-back] could be now important.

“Well, Bellerin is a player who has a contract at Arsenal. He is a magnificent player, undoubtedly, but there are more right-backs [who could be interested]. Barcelona have the obligation to have many right-backs under control.”

Bellerin has become one of the best right-backs currently operating in the Premier League over the past couple of years and Arsenal will undoubtedly reject any offers received by Barcelona this summer.
