Wilfred Ndidi’s agent says the midfielder will not be leaving Leicester City this summer, amid reports linking him with a move to Arsenal.
The 20-year-old Nigerian joined Leicester City from Genk for £17million in January and has impressed following the departure of N’Golo Kante last summer to Chelsea.
His performances have reportedly attracted the attentions of Arsenal, Manchester United and Southampton, but his agent claims Ndidi is unlikely to leave the King Power Stadium at the end of the season despite interest in the young midfielder:
“There are many unofficial approaches.
“But he is never going to leave because of the way Leicester players and coaches welcomed and treated him.
“Besides it is normal [to have interest shown]. Southampton never pay big money for players.
“Ndidi was one of the most expensive Leicester signings and that might increase due to league points and championships.”
Arsenal reportedly missed out on signing Kante last summer and opted to recruit Granit Xhaka instead. However, with the Swiss midfielder struggling to adapt to life in the Premier League it seems Arsene Wenger, who looks set to continue on as manager past the summer, is drawing up a list of potential signings this summer and views Ndidi as one that could do a job for the Gunners next season.
