Reported Arsenal target Gabriel Barbosa is ‘happy in Milan’ and aiming to stamp his authority at Inter, according to his agent.
The 20-year-old moved to Inter Milan from Santos last summer for around £20million but has struggled to adapt and start for the Serie A club thus far.
Before joining Inter, Barbosa was being heavily linked with a move to Arsenal and was also a reported January target for Liverpool.
Despite his miserable start to life at Inter, his agent, Wagner Ribeiro, insists the forward will remain at the club this summer and fight for a place in the starting line-up.
Quoted on Tuttomercatoweb (via talkSPORT), Ribeiro said:
“Gabriel is an Inter player.
“When we chose this club we signed a contract until 2021, and there were no specific clauses included guaranteeing obligatory minutes, let alone a starting spot.
“He’s happy in Milan, he’ll fight for more space.”
With Alexis Sanchez’s future at Arsenal in doubt, the Gunners have and continued to be linked with several replacements for the Chilean this summer.
Barbosa has not been mentioned since last summer, and it appears the Brazilian will not be leaving Inter Milan anytime soon.
