Reported Arsenal target Lorenzo Insigne is edging closer and closer to agreeing a contract extension with Napoli, according to sources in Italy.

The 25-year-old forward has been negotiating a new deal to stay beyond summer 2019 but has been struggling to agree personal terms with the Serie A club. As a result of ongoing talks, speculation has been increasing suggesting that the diminutive Italian could be on his way out of the Naples outfit.

AS Roma, AC Milan, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham have all been linked with a move for Insigne in recent times with the forward reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League.

Arsenal have reportedly been drawing up a list of potential Alexis Sanchez replacements and Insigne has been mentioned as possible candidate for the job.

However, according to Italian publication Corriere del Mezzogiorno (via Transfermarketweb.com), it is now thought that Insigne is close to agreeing a new deal with Napoli until June 2022 which will include a £2.62million annual salary excluding add-ons and bonuses.
