Atletico Madrid are monitoring Arsenal striker Lucas Perez’s situation at the Emirates, according to AS.
Diego Simeone’s side are looking for alternatives if Antoine Griezmann leaves the club in the summer, and they have settled on three names that could fit the bill.
Former Liverpool forward, and Celta Vigo player Iago Aspas seems to be the prime candidate currently but Simeone is believed to have also singled out Perez, and Sevilla forward Vitolo as potential signings.
A lot will depend on whether Atletico Madrid succeed in getting their transfer ban reduced to one transfer window. The Spanish side are currently banned from buying players, both in January and in the summer but they are hopeful an appeal will be successful.
Perez has struggled to establish himself in Arsene Wenger’s side despite impressing in many of his appearances for the Gunners since his £17m switch from Deportivo in the summer. He has seven goals and five assists to his name so far this season.
