Celtic are keeping tabs on Arsenal youngster Chris Willock as they seek to replace Manchester City loanee Patrick Roberts.

Brendan Rodgers is thought to be a keen admirer of the 19-year-old, who featured twice in the EFL Cup for the Gunners this season, and is looking to add him to his squad next season.

The Celtic boss reckons he could persuade Arsenal to allow Willock to leave on loan this summer with the promise of regular first-team football.

Willock was arguably one of Arsenal’s Under-21 star performers last season, scoring six goals in 19 outings from the wide berth.

The Arsenal youngster has yet to be loaned out, and although he has trained with the first-team on a number of occasions this season, he has yet to make his senior debut in the Premier League for the north London club.

Arsene Wenger has loaned out several youngsters out to Championship sides, as well as SPL ones, in the past and Willock could be one of them this summer.
