Arsenal have tabled a written offer for Napoli pair Lorenzo Insigne and Faouzi Ghoulam, according to Ok Calciomercato. The bid is reportedly worth €60million or approximately £52million.
Reports in the Italian media have suggested that the Gunners are interested in the duo with scouts from the club having been present at Napoli’s match against Chievo Verona to see them in action last month.
There is a big leap though from keeping an eye on potential targets in view to a summer bid, and actually submitting a formal written offer for such a large amount.
If it is true, it seems Arsenal are wasting no time in making a move for Insigne who, it was reported this week, has failed to come to an agreement with Napoli over a new contract. A €3.5million a season offer was made by the club but the winger is said to be seeking €5million a year.
Ghoulam is an Algerian international left back who the Evening Standard reported in January as having rejected a new contact worth £60,000 a week. His current deal runs until 2018 and will certainly be in demand in the summer from top European clubs.
