Arsenal have offered a contract to Schalke left-back Sead Kolasinac in hope of signing him on a free transfer this summer.
The 23-year-old’s contract is set to expire over the summer and the Bundesliga club look almost certain to lose his services with a number of clubs reportedly keen on the Bosnian.
German publication Bild (via The Sun) claim the Gunners have tabled a contract to Kolasinac but will face competition from AC Milan, Juventus, Roma, Liverpool and Manchester City.
With Arsene Wenger look set to remain in charge of Arsenal and reports of a rebuild this summer, the Frenchman is aware that the left-back position is a position he must address and sees Kolasinac as a long-term replacement for Nacho Monreal.
However, it’s believed that the lure of Champions League football could play a huge part in the left-back’s decision and will wait until the end of the season before committing to a club.
Kolasinac has been a key figure for Schalke this season, making a total of 30 appearances in all competitions so far.
