The Gunners lost 3-1 at Stamford Bridge yesterday to a very spirited Chelsea side, inspired by their talismanic forward Eden Hazard as the Blues opened a 12-point gap at the top of the Premier League table over Arsenal.

However, it was not really a bad outing for Arsenal in total as some of the players impressed, despite the loss.

The Gunners got a late goal thanks to Olivier Giroud, but it proved to be a mere consolation.

On this note, here are my Arsenal player ratings from that game:

Petr Cech – The former Chelsea goalkeeper had a moderate game between the sticks but should have done better for Eden Hazard’s solo goal. Spilled the ball to Cesc Fabregas in a costly error as the Spaniard capitalized to make it 3-0. 5.5/10

Hector Bellerin – Had a decent time on the pitch but had to leave the match due to injury to be replaced by makeshift right-back in Gabriel for the remainder of the game. 4/10

Laurent Koscielny – The Arsenal skipper held his lines well but faltered as his indecision of what to do within a space of seconds allowed Eden Hazard to double the lead for Chelsea at 2-0. 6/10

Shkodran Mustafi – Was a threat to Chelsea from set-pieces and did some nice defensive work to keep his Arsenal side in the match. 6.5/10

Nacho Monreal – One of his best performance on the Arsenal shirt as the Spaniard defended well and was very mobile in transition. Created the chance for the Arsenal goal. 6.5/10

Francis Coquelin – The Frenchman was energetic throughout out but was embarrassed by Eden Hazard as the Belgian went on to score. 5.5/10

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – The winger was brilliant in the new defensive midfield role. Great vision to pick out Mustafi for a decent header that tested Courtois. He drove the midfield at some point in the game. 6.5/10

Mesut Ozil – A good performance from the German playmaker who created spaces for his teammates in midfield. Great vision to spot his teammates many times in the game and showed flair and awareness, particularly in the second-half. 6.5/10

Alex Iwobi – The youngster had a couple of good turns on the ball but was not quick enough to influence play for Arsenal in the final third. 6/10

Theo Walcott – Showed good 0movement going forward in the game but He fizzled out which led to him being subbed for the 100th time in his Arsenal career. 5.5/10

Alexis Sanchez – The Chilean was not really at his best as Hazard ran the show for Chelsea in the final third. Got the better of Cesar Azipilicueta on the right side at times but did too much at times. 6/10

SUBS:

Gabriel – The Brazilian had a moderate game in defence and got forward when necessary but still not as efficient as Bellerin. 6/10

Olivier Giroud – Lost the ball on his entrance in the center of the midfield but made up with a consolation goal from a superb header which was difficult for Courtois to keep out. 6/10

Danny Welbeck – The forward was impressive as he committed Nemanja Matic for a booking. Drifted in and out of Chelsea’s defence with his flair and good runs on the ball. 6.5/10
