Player’s father admits interest from Arsenal and three other clubs

|

The father of Monaco defensive midfielder Fabinho has admitted holding talks with Arsenal as well as Barcelona, Manchester City and Manchester United about a possible move away from the Ligue One side.

Speaking on French TV show J+1, Joao Roberto Tavares revealed that he has already been approached by Barca, and had also held discussions with three Premier League clubs, although it seems Manchester City seem to be the front runners:

“We have been in talks with Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal & approached by Barcelona. We like Manchester United & Mourinho’s work, but we have a soft spot for Manchester City.”

Fabinho has been in good form for Monaco as the French League side sit top of the table after 25 games. The Brazilian has scored seven times, and provided three assists in 35 games so far this campaign.

The 23-year-old has four senior caps for Brazil, and has been a regular starter for Monaco since joining from Real Madrid in 2013. He spent his first two seasons on loan at the French side before joining permanently in the summer of 2015.
