Tottenham Hotspur have entered the running to sign Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe, according to the Mirror.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has recently expressed his admiration for the 18 year old, but it seems the Gunners will have their London rivals to compete with if the Frenchman opts to leave Monaco.

Mbappe starred in Monaco’s 5-0 victory over Metz at the weekend by scoring a hat-trick to keep his side three points ahead of Paris Saint-Germain at the top of the Ligue One table.

The striker did not play in either match against Spurs in the Champions League group stages earlier this season after missing the first game through injury, and starting the second game on the bench. He has however begun to start more matches under head coach Leonardo Jardim in recent weeks with 11 goals to his name from 23 appearances this season.

Arsene Wenger told French TV recently that the Gunners have been scouting Mbappe in the last few months and that he thinks the 18 year old is a “super talent” who could be “another Thierry Henry.”
