Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez is reportedly holding out for a 4-5 year contract worth approximately €22m (£18.75m) a season, according to calciomerato.com.

His current deal is worth £130,000 a week, or £6.75million a year, but it looks certain that any deal with the Gunners, or with any other club if they wish to sign the 28 year old, could total €100million over the course of the contract.

The Daily Mail reported back in December that Sanchez was demanding close to double his current salary but if Calciomercato’s number are to be believed, the Chilean international will demand £360,000 a week which would be a huge salary increase. It is believed that offers from Chinese Super League clubs are pushing up the player’s demands.

The Italian website report that this would put off prospective suitors in Italy such as Inter Milan and Juventus, whose current top earner Gonzalo Higuain is on a somewhat more modest €7.5million a year after signing from Napoli in a £77million deal last summer.
