Diego Simeone will be Atletico Madrid manager next season, even if they the La Liga club fail to qualify for the Champions League.

The Madrid outfit currently sit in fourth place in La Liga, just one point above fifth-place Real Sociedad, who host Eibar tonight.

Simeone has come under some criticism this season with his side displaying uncharacteristic lack of discipline, with many questioning whether the Argentine if fully committed anymore to the Atleti.

Simeone has been linked with jobs around Europe, including Arsenal, Juventus and Inter, with some believing this could be his final season in charge of Atletico Madrid.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Simeone with Arsene Wenger’s future in doubt at the north London club. Wenger has yet to make a decision on whether he will remain in charge of the Gunners, and should he leave Arsenal, the fans would like to see Simeone replace the Frenchman.

However, Spanish publication AS claim Simeone will not be leaving Atleti and will oversee the club’s move from the Vicente Calderon to the new 70,000-capacity Wanda Metropolitan Stadium, while also working with his staff to plan the club’s summer targets.
