Arsenal and Manchester City are set to lose out to Serie A champions Juventus in the race to sign teenager Rodrigo Bentancur from Boca Juniors, according to Tuttosport (via Football-Italia.net).

It was revealed last April that the Gunners were keeping a close eye on the Uruguayan midfielder.  The Italian media however report that a deal for Bentancur has been in the works with Juve since Carlos Tevez joined Boca from the Italian side in 2015.

The 19 year old has been playing for Uruguay’s Under 20s at the South American Championships but has also played in the Primera Division for Boca this season. He has played 11 times in his favoured central midfield role, creating two goals for his team mates so far this campaign.

A transfer fee of £8million is said to have been agreed between Boca and Juve, with add-ons dependent on performances. It is believed he will travel to Italy in the next few weeks for a medical to seal the move.
