Arsenal have been given a boost in their pursuit of Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko after the player rejected a contract extension from the Ligue One outfit, reports Le 10 Sport.

The French website say that the Gunners have confirmed to Bakayoko’s agent that they are interested in signing the 22 year old in the summer. The Frenchman is also reportedly the subject of interest from two other Premier League clubs in Chelsea and Manchester City who have also enquired about Bakayoko’s availability.

Currently, it is believed that Bakayoko is earning under €100,000 a month (approximately £21,000 a week), and although Monaco are said to have offered better terms in the latest contract offer, the proposal was rejected.

The defensive midfielder has featured regularly under manager Leonardo Jardim this season, making 32 appearances in all competitions for the French League leaders, scoring twice and providing one assist. He has yet to win a full cap for France but has played for the Under 21 side on 13 occasions.
