Arsenal scouts were in Italy yesterday to watch Sassuolo winger Domenico Berardi, according to Tuttosport.
The 22 year old was unable to prevent the Serie A club from losing 1-0 at home to AC Milan after the Rossoneri scored a controversial goal by forward Carlos Bacca.
After an impressive sixth place finish last season, Sassuolo qualified for the UEFA Europa League this campaign and Berardi made a big impression in the competition as the Italian side qualified to make the group stages.
In four qualifying round matches, the Italian Under 21 international scored five goals and provided one assist. His league season has however been curtailed by a knee injury after starting the campaign impressively with two goals in his first two games.
He returned to fitness in January, and in his eight matches since the New Year, he has created three goals. His talents haven’t gone unnoticed in Italy where he has been reportedly interesting a number of clubs.
