Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are scouting Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski, according to TransferMarketWeb.

The Polish international has scored for the Italian side in the past two matches, and his recent performances look to have been noticed by the Gunners scouting network in Italy.

The 22-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool last summer, to the extent he was pictured wearing a Liverpool shirt, but the Reds failed to agree a fee with his club Udinese, and the midfielder eventually moved to Naples for €16million (£13.5million).

Zielinski tends to play almost exclusively in central midfield, an area where the Gunners have been light this season with the absence of Santi Cazorla due to injury, and Jack Wilshere out on loan at Bournemouth.

The midfielder did struggle to find his feet at Napoli earlier in the season but he has been in red hot form recently with four goals and five assists in his last 12 matches in all competitions.
