Arsenal are keeping tabs on Sassuolo central midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini, reports Tuttosport.
The Italian newspaper say they believe the Gunners had representatives at the Mapei Stadium yesterday afternoon when his team faced AC Milan in a league match.
The central midfielder has been linked with a move away from Sassuolo in recent months, and at 20 years of age he could be seen as a long term replacement for Gunners star Santi Cazorla.
It has been confirmed by the Spaniard that he has undergone another operation on a problematic ankle injury, and he will now no longer take part in any games for Arsenal between now and the end of the season.
In contrast to Cazorla’s injury issues, Pellegrini has had an excellent season. Although he did not manage to prevent Sassuolo losing 1-0 to AC Milan yesterday, he has impressed onlookers so far this campaign with seven goals, and five assists in 27 matches in all competitions.
