Arsene Wenger insists Arsenal need help from other teams for his side to get back into the Premier League title race.

The Gunners thrashed Paul Clement’s Swansea 4-0 yesterday afternoon, but the north London club remain eight points adrift of table toppers Chelsea after dropping points to Everton, Manchester City and Bournemouth in recent weeks.

Speaking after the game at the Liberty Stadium, Wenger was asked if his side are still in with a chance of winning the Premier League title this season, the Frenchman said:

‘There are many good teams around us and everyone is doing well. We can only focus on our results and hope some go our way.’

Arsenal may well need help from others in order to gain ground on Chelsea and those above them, but, first and foremost, they need to concentrate on what they do and keep winning. Chelsea have looked unbeatable at times this season, but they have tasted defeat, and with 17 games still to play, Antonio Conte’s side are bound to drop points again. However, Arsenal cannot afford to do so if they want to win the title.

There’s still a long way to go and hopefully results go our way in the upcoming months.
