Arsene Wenger is on the hunt for another lower-league defender, this time AFC Wimbledon starlet Toby Sibbick.

The 17-year-old is highly-rated by the League One club and has been compared to Bournemouth full-back Tyrone Mings.

The Gunners are, according to The Sun, keeping tabs on Sibbick’s progress along with West Ham and Watford.

Sibbick, who only signed a new deal with AFC Wimbledon in August last year, is primarily a right-back but can also play in the centre of defence as well.

Wenger has admitted that to find the best young British talent he sends his scouts to the lower leagues. The Frenchman brought in Rob Holding from Bolton last summer and only recently snapped up young left-back Cohen Bramall from Hednesford Town for around £40,000 yesterday. He is now keeping tabs on Sibbick ahead of a potential transfer either this month or at the end of the season.
