Arsene Wenger has hinted he will not make a move for wantaway West Ham playmaker Dimitri Payet.

It was revealed and confirmed by Hammers boss Slaven Bilic that the 29-year-old wants to leave the East London club this month.

It’s believed a number of clubs are interested in the France international, with Paris Saint-Germain, Marseille, Manchester United and Chelsea making the list, but Bilic has insisted that Payet will not be going anywhere.

Arsenal is another possible destination after Payet talked up a move to the Emirates Stadium last month, but Wenger has suggested that he will not be going in for the playmaker.

When asked about Payet’s situation at West Ham, Wenger said:

‘The vibes you get from outside are not very positive but I do not know what is going on.

‘I just hope him and West Ham can sort the situation out. He is not known for having a bad mentality.’

It’s unknown why Payet has asked to leave West Ham, but it has been coming, with the player’s body language and commitment not the same as last season. It’s been suggested that he wants to return to France for ‘personal reasons’ but many will believe that the Frenchman simply doesn’t want to play for a team currently struggling in the Premier League.
