PSG ‘prepare’ £26m offer to ward off Arsenal

|

Paris Saint-Germain are lining up a £26 million offer for Benfica playmaker Goncalo Guedes, according to RMC Sport.

The French TV station are reporting that the French club are already holding discussions about the move with the player’s representatives.

Guedes has been consistently scouted by Arsenal over the past few months with multiple reports in the Portuguese press stating that Gunners scouts have been present at Benfica matches to watch the 20-year-old; the latest being this weekend’s match against Boavista.

Speculation has increased to the extent that the player’s father Rogerio Guedes felt compelled to speak on Portuguese radio last week about the matter. He stated that he feels that his son would benefit by staying in Portugal a while longer to improve his game and continue his development.

Guedes has had an excellent season for Benfica so far with the player scoring seven goals, and providing nine assists, in 28 appearances this campaign.
