Inter Milan have identified Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak as a possible successor to Samir Handanovic.

The Serie A club’s recent takeover by Chinese super-rich retailers Suning will allow manager Stefano Pioli to invest in new players come the end of the season, with the Italian drawing up a shortlist of potential signings over the summer. Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez is said to be on the list and it now appears Oblak has been identified as another possible transfer this summer, according to Transfermarketweb.com.

The 24-year-old Slovenian, who has drawn interest from Arsenal, is being looked at by Inter to succeed fellow countryman Handanovic.

Oblak still has four-years left on his current deal at Atletico but, with Diego Simeone’s future in doubt at the Vicente Calderon, the shot-stopper may consider his at the La Liga club.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Oblak in November/December last year as Arsene Wenger prepares to lose the services of Wojciech Szczesny and possibly David Ospina this summer.

Oblak is thought to have an £85million release clause in his current contract, which Arsenal are not prepared to meet. However, the same cannot be said for Inter.
