Former PSV Eindhoven coach Aad de Mos believes that PSV winger Gaston Pereiro could be a perfect fit for a team like Arsenal or London rivals Tottenham.
The Uruguayan signed from Nacional for £6 million in 2015, but writing in his column for the Eindhovens Dagblad newspaper, de Mos commented that despite the 21-year-old performing well in the Eredivisie, he would be much better suited playing for a “dominant” team like the Gunners:
“In a team that plays very dominant, it would be better for him, and I think he could be a good reinforcement for even Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. PSV still plays frequently with the handbrake on and only do what they need to do.”
Pereiro has 18 caps for Uruguay and has an impressive seven goals already for his country. He predominantly plays on the right hand side, and excelled during his first season at the club, scoring 14 goals in 39 games. He is on course to match his first season figures this campaign with eight goals coming in his first 26 games.
The player no doubt has talent, and could step up a level to play in the Premier League. Whether Arsene Wenger is keen on signing a winger though is up for debate.
