Arsenal goalkeeping target Ederson has been scouted by Barcelona in recent weeks, according to O Jogo.

The Benfica goalkeeper has been in impressive form for the Portuguese side and has been tipped for a bright future.

Arsenal, along with Manchester United and Manchester City, have reportedly been keeping tabs on the 23-year-old, but O Jogo now claim Barcelona have also send representatives to watch him in action this season.

It’s been reported that the Barca scouts were present during Benfica’s victory over Dynamo Kiev in November, where Ederson helped the Portuguese club pick up a 1-0 victory by saving a penalty.

However, due to his age and profile in the game, most clubs interested would see him as a back-up signing rather than a first-choice option – this being the likely case for Arsenal.

The Gunners have been linked with a number of goalkeepers in recent weeks, and although Petr Cech still has a good few years left in him, perhaps Arsene Wenger is seeking out a long-term replacement for the Czech keeper.
