AS are reporting that doubts about Atletico Madrid Yannick Carrasco’s future at the La Liga side have given fresh encouragement to the likes of Arsenal and other top European clubs that the Belgian international could be available next summer.

The rumours of Simeone’s own impending departure as well as Carrasco’s own contract situation have given rise to more speculation, as well as an apparent drop in form by the 23-year-old.

Spanish newspaper AS add Carrasco is unhappy at being played wide on the right on occasion by Simeone. He started the season in excellent form with seven goals in 13 games but the goals have begun to dry up and a recent foot injury has meant the Belgian has been sidelined since the winter break.

Carrasco’s current deal expires in 2022 but Atletico want him to sign a new deal that would increase his release clause to €100million. If no new deal is signed, and his dip in form continues until the end of the season, European clubs including the Gunners maybe hoping that Atletico could consider selling the winger.
