Arsenal scouts make another trip to watch Portuguese playmaker

|

Arsenal representatives were once again in the crowd to watch Benfica’s match against Vitoria de Guimaraes last night, reports the Record.

The Portuguese newspaper noted that scouts from the Gunners were at the game to keep an eye on playmaker Goncalo Guedes who has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates over the past few months.

The 20 year old has become a key player for the Portuguese champions in a very short period of time, playing in the number 10 role behind striker Konstantinos Mitroglou in attack.

Guedes’ performance in the Portuguese Cup match against Vitoria yesterday would have impressed the visiting scouts as he scored both goals in a 2-0 away win in the group stage match.

So far this campaign, Guedes has scored seven goals, and provided nine assists, in 27 appearances in all competitions. He has also been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain and no doubt his performances will lead other clubs to take notice.
