Sevilla are preparing for life without midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, according to AS.

Writing in the Spanish daily newspaper, journalist Manolete says that that Sporting Director Monchi is already eyeing up replacements for the 28 year old.

AS also say that N’Zonzi is not closing the door on a move back to the Premier League. The Gunners have been linked with the former Stoke player over the past few weeks.

The Frenchman’s reputation has been enhanced this campaign as he has helped Sevilla to second in the La Liga table, ahead of Barcelona. He has reportedly refused a contract extension that would have increased his buyout clause above the current €30million.

With the release clause still in place, Monchi is now seeking potential replacements but it is still not certain that N’Zonzi will leave this month. The Gunners are short of numbers in central midfield due to the absences of Mohamed Elneny and Santi Cazorla but it is doesn’t seem likely that Arsene Wenger would spend such a high amount on a 28 year old.
