Arsene Wenger is set to launch a £30 million bid for the services of Wolfsburg midfielder Julian Draxler.

The German international is understood to be unhappy at the Bundesliga club after being left out of the squad that received a hammering from Bayern Munich over the weekend, and Arsenal have once again been linked with a move for the 23-year-old.

Last week, reports in Germany claimed Draxler will no longer feature for Wolfsburg and has demanded to be put up for sale next month.

Although Wenger remains coy on whether he will add to his squad during January, it’s believed the Gunners have already made an enquiry about the World Cup winner.

Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are yet to agree new terms with the club and by tempting Draxler to the Emirates, it would show that the Gunners mean business and entice the star duo to pen new deals sooner rather than later.

It’s understood that Wolfsburg have slapped a £30 million price-tag on Draxler, despite having a substantial release clause of just over £60 million.

Arsenal reportedly failed in a £43 million bid over the summer, but with the player unhappy at Wolfsburg, Wenger could finally get his man next month for £13 million less.
