Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has heaped praised Mesut Ozil, labeling the German midfielder an ‘outstanding player’.
Ozil, 28, has been in his best form for Arsenal since joining the north London club from Real Madrid back in 2013, netting eight goals and playing a huge part in helping Arsene Wenger’s side climb to second place in the Premier League.
And Griezmann, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal in previous transfer windows, appears to be a keen admirer of the Germany international.
Talking to German publication Reviersport, the France international said:
‘He’s an outstanding player.
‘I rate his style of play, his passing quality and also that he always finds a solution with a long ball or a dribbling.
‘He’s elegant with the ball.’
Greizmann has recently suggested that if he was to ever leave Atletico Madrid in the future it would be for the Premier League, which has given a huge boost to the top clubs interested in the 25-year-old.
Ozil is still in negotiations over a new deal to extend his stay at Arsenal with his current contract set to expire after the end of next season. Hopefully the German ends up agreeing new terms and Greizmann, should he decide to leave Atleti, seriously considers a move to Arsenal to play alongside the likes of Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.
