The draw for the Round of 16 of the Champions League takes place tomorrow morning (11am) in Nyon, Switzerland, and we find out who Arsenal will be go head-to-head for a place in the Quarter-Finals of the competition.
The Gunners finished first in their Champions League group on the final match day after Paris Saint-Germain were held to a 2-2 draw to Ludogorets in France.
As a result of topping their group, Arsenal will supposedly be dealt an ‘easier’ draw for the next round and have home advantage for the second-leg of the tie.
The teams Arsenal can draw are as followed:
Apart from the obvious two names on the list, Arsenal fans will be pleased with any of the other four.
But which side do Arsenal fans want in the next round? Here are the results of a recent poll conducted on Twitter with the four top voted sides out of the six which included Porto, Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen and Benfica, and the results weren’t really all that surprising. Results showed that 32% of votes cast (37 in total) want to see the Gunners take on Portuguese side Porto, while Bayer Leverkusen came in a close second with 30%. A further 22% voted for Real Madrid and Benfica were behind the La Liga giants with 16%.
Hopefully, Arsenal get a favourable draw tomorrow afternoon (anyone but Real and Bayern, but if we get them then so be it) and can progress into the Quarter-Final stage of the competition.
