Arsene Wenger pushed for a scout to be present for Porto’s match against Feirense in the Portuguese Cup yesterday.

The Abola newspaper report that the Gunners boss wanted someone to watch Yacine Brahimi who started the 1-1 draw at the Estadio do Dragao.

The Algerian international was frozen out by manager Nuno at the start of the season but has managed to work his way back into the coach’s first team plans.

He has started the last three league games, as well as impressing onlookers by scoring in the 5-0 win over Leicester City in the Champions League at the start of the month.

The 26 year old has been linked with a number of different clubs over the past few months, and it looks likely that Porto will allow the midfielder to leave the club if a good enough offer comes in for the player.

Brahimi will however miss club matches in January as he heads to the African Cup of Nations with Algeria but could be a candidate for a transfer at the end of the window.
