Signing John Terry could win Arsenal the Premier League title, according to Harry Redknapp.
The Gunners have been shipping in goals as of late and have only managed four clean sheets so far this season and Redknapp believes the addition of Terry, 36, would resolve the problem.
The Chelsea centre-back has struggled with injuries this season and has only made five Premier League appearances for Antonio Conte’s side.
Despite his lack of starts and fitness Redknapp reckons Arsenal should consider a move for the former England international.
Quoted on talkSPORT, as reported by Metro, the ex-Spurs boss said:
‘Do you want to win the league? I tell you what I’d do: go take John Terry for a season,’
‘Arsenal [could] take him, he could win the league for Arsenal, he could win the league for anyone.
‘He’s a leader, he’s worth his weight in gold, get the right people around him, get someone alongside him with a bit more pace.
‘He reads the game, he’s a leader, he’s a winner, in the dressing room, he’s a captain, I’d have him all day John Terry.’
Redknapp’s words will more than likely fall on deaf ears of the Arsenal faithful and will be viewed as an endorsement for Terry’s defensive capabilities more than anything else.
Arsenal already have Laurent Koscielny, Gabriel, Shkodran Mustafi and young Rob Holding as their defensive options and should Arsene Wenger decide to add to this, I’m sure he would look beyond the services of Terry.
