Arsenal are targeting AC Milan forward M’Baye Niang as a potential signing next summer, according to calciomercato.com.

The French Under-21 international has begun to deliver on his potential this season, and has impressed Rossoneri boss Vincenzo Montella enough to consider moving him from his wing position to play up top to replace Carlos Bacca.

Niang’s contract expires in 2019, and he only agreed to a new contract extension last December, but the Serie A side are concerned that Niang’s head could be turned by other clubs, including Arsenal.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is believed to have added Niang’s name to the list of reinforcements he wants to sign next summer if he stays at the Emirates stadium. Calciomercato report however that Arsenal could face competition for the 21 year old’s signature from French Ligue One side Monaco, as well as Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund.

The Italian website do say however say that Niang is keen to stay at the San Siro after beginning to establish himself at the club and it will take some persuading for him to depart Italy.
