Juventus are interested in signing Arsenal full back Mathieu Debuchy in the January transfer window, according to calciomercato.it.

The Serie A champions lack cover at right-back and see the Frenchman as a good short-term solution to their problems.

The Italian website report that Juve are considering a loan move for the 31-year-old with their first choice full-back/wing-back Dani Alves currently sidelined with injury.

His replacement in the team would be Stephan Lichtsteiner, and although the Swiss international will be relied upon this season, he is expected to leave at the end of the season when his contract expires.

A loan offer for Debuchy could therefore be an audition for a permanent move to Italy. The Frenchman however has his own injury problems after he was taken off after just 16 minutes against Bournemouth on Sunday with what looked like a serious hamstring injury.

Whether this will put off Juve, we will have to wait until January. The Old Lady will have competition for Debuchy’s signature from the likes of Marseille and Roma, who are both supposedly keen on his services.
