Arsenal have reportedly contacted Sunderland over the availability of Jordan Pickford.

The 22-year-old made the breakthrough into the Sunderland first-team this season and has arguably been one of David Moyes’ better players this term.

The Evening Standard now suggests that the Gunners are keen on signing the England Under-21 international goalkeeper in January only to send him back on loan to Sunderland for the remainder of the campaign.

The newspaper also claim Tottenham, Manchester City and Everton are also interested in the highly-rated shot-stopper.

Moyes will be desperate to keep hold of Pickford after being told he will not have any funds to utilize in January.

Pickford is yet another goalkeeper who has been linked with a move to Arsenal, despite Arsene Wenger stressing that Petr Cech will remain at his first-choice shot-stopper for several years to come.

However, with David Ospina’s future in doubt and last month saying he plans to hold talks with Wenger at the end of the season, it’s no surprise that the club have been mooted with moves for potential replacements for the Colombian.
