Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour believes Arsene Wenger will struggle to add quality to his squad during the January transfer window.

Arsenal have been linked with numerous targets ahead of the upcoming transfer window, with many Arsenal fans and pundits alike believing Wenger will need to strengthen his squad if his side are too seriously mount a title challenge in the second half of the season.

The Gunners currently sit in fourth place in the Premier League table after 18 games played and are nine points behind table toppers Chelsea.

But Parlour reckons his former club will struggle to find what they are looking for in January.

When asked if his former club can secure their top targets next month, the ex-Gunners told the Daily Star:

‘I don’t think they can get them in January.’

It remains to be seen whether Wenger manages to bolster his squad during January, but the Frenchman did hint earlier this month that he is not looking to do major business, referencing the return of Aaron Ramsey and Danny Welbeck as new signings.
