Arsenal are eying up a move for Standard Liege goalkeeper Guillaume Hubert having watched him six times this season.

The 22-year-old joined Standard Liege from Valenciennes II in 2012 and has made 33 appearances so far for the Belgian side but has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past.

Belgian site HLN.be claim Arsenal have sent scouts to watch Hubert this season and has reported back positive reports on the young goalkeeper and were again impressed with his display during Liege’s 2-2 draw with Genk over the weekend.

Since his arrival, Petr Cech has instantly become Arsene Wenger’s first-choice goalkeeper, but it’s understood the Frenchman is eyeing up potential replacements for the 34-year-old, whose contract expires in summer 2019.

Hubert is reportedly on Wenger’s list but Liverpool are also believed to be monitoring the highly-rated Belgian.

Wenger already has the likes of David Ospina, Wojceich Szczesny and Emiliano Martinez on his books, but all three are under different circumstances at the club. Ospina is said to be unhappy at his lack of first-team opportunities and will hold talks over his future at the end of the season, while Szczesny could make his loan move to Roma a permanent one next summer and Martinez is viewed as a bright prospect.
