Arsenal and AC Milan are set to go head-to-head for the signing of Nice starlet Vincent Koziello, according to reports in France.
The 21-year-old has been in impressive form for the current Ligue 1 leaders and has been dubbed by the French media as ‘the new Xavi’.
French publication Nice Matin, as reported by TalkSPORT, claim Arsenal have been scouting the young midfielder this season and were linked with a January move back in October.
However, Nice will be reluctant to sell Koziello but has not started as much games as he did for the Ligue 1 outfit this season as he did the previous one under Claude Puel.
Koziello has made six starts in Ligue 1 and a further five in the Europa League and could look to change scenery when the January transfer window opens if he believes his future would be brighter elsewhere.
AC Milan are now said to be keeping tabs on the midfielder, but Arsenal would be seen as frontrunners for his signature as Arsene Wenger has a way of luring French talent to the Emirates.
