Arsenal interest confirmed in £34m rated talent

|

The agent of Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie has confirmed that Arsenal are one of the teams that are interested in the Ivorian international.

The 20-year-old has Europe’s elite clubs chasing him with it the Guardian reporting that Chelsea have already had a £21million bid rejected by his club. It is believed Atalanta is seeking €40 million (or £34 million) for Kessie who only broke into the Italian club’s first team at the start of this season. Speaking to the Guardian, Kessie’s agent George Atangana confirmed that England’s Big Five clubs are all chasing the player:

‘We have a lot of interest from the Premier League – Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal. I cannot say at this stage how much he will cost but we are talking about one of the best young players in the world. But for us the most important thing is that the technical project is the right one for him. Franck is very young so we have to be very careful about his development.’

Kessie will be absent for his club in January while he plays for the Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations, but it looks likely a deal could go ahead if a club meets Atalanta’s asking price. Whether that will be the Gunners, it will be up to whether manager Arsene Wenger feels as if the holding midfielder is value for money.
