January could be the time for Arsenal and Arsene Wenger to start thinking about life after Petr Cech.
The man from the Czech Republic has proved an inspired signing once again this season after a great first year for the club since joining from Chelsea but he will be 35 at the end of this season and that suggests he may not have much left in him.
Whilst goalkeepers can perform at a higher age for longer than outfield players the Gunners will easily have the oldest stopper out of their title rivals and will be risking the inevitable decline in ability that comes to every single player with Cech.
It must have crossed Wenger’s mind, then, that it could be time to start the handing over process and with David Ospina not really good enough and Wojciech Szczesny likely to not be at the club a new ‘keeper may be coming through the doors in January.
