Arsenal sent five first-team players out on loan over the summer, plus a further eight from the youth ranks.

A loan move, primarily, is for a player (whether it be a first-team or youth one) who isn’t getting the required game time at their parent club to move to another for a duration of time to do so. Depending on the length of the deal, the player would then return to the club with the intention of challenging for a starting role.

However, it could also indicate from the start that the player just isn’t quite up to the required standard or is indeed not in the manager’s first-team plans, leading to permanent moves away in the future.

Arsenal have utilized this process well in the past, with Jack Wilshere being a prime example of a player going out on loan to become a regular.

So with this in mind, do these five Arsenal first-team loanees have a future at the Emirates once their loan spells expire?
