Quoted by Arsenal’s official website, manager Arsene Wenger has said what he feels the returning Aaron Ramsey brings to his side and compared him to Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard in the process.

The Welsh international, who got to the semi-final of EURO 2016 with his country in the summer, came back from injury at the weekend in the 4-1 win over Sunderland and Wenger feels he has got plenty to offer his side this season as they look to keep up their title challenge: “He is a player who is box-to-box so overall he pushes the team forward. That is what we want in our side. He can play in holding midfield, he can play if needed on the flanks as well. That’s where he is not happy but he can play there as well. He has a tremendous drive, he’s a bit Lampard-ish you know, where he likes to get in the box, likes to shoot from distance and has similar quality.”

Ramsey could now feature in the Champions League against Bulgarian side Ludogorets in the Champions League as he looks to build match fitness as a busy November for the Gunners begins.

The men from the Emirates face the likes of Tottenham, this weekend, and Manchester United later on in the month as they try to keep pace with Manchester City at the top of the league.

City, Arsenal and Liverpool are level on points at the summit of the table with just goal-difference keeping the Citizens in front.
